Rock slope Engineering Lab students dominate Stage at International Conference on Sustainable & Innovative Mining Practices NIT Rourkela

The International Conference on Sustainable & Innovative Mining Practices, organized by the Department of Mining Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, concluded on November 18, 2023, leaving a trail of groundbreaking research and innovation in the field of mining engineering.

The highlight of the event was the recognition of Mohammad Farooq Bhat from IIT ISM Dhanbad, who secured the first position and the prestigious Best Paper award for his outstanding contribution to the field. Farooq's paper, lauded for its innovative approach and sustainable mining practices, stood out among the myriad of submissions from participants around the globe.

The conference, was also attended by Kapoor Chand and Amit Mankar from the same institute, which showcased the prowess of the Rock Slope Engineering Lab at IIT ISM Dhanbad. The lab, founded by Professor Radhakanta Koner, an associate professor in the Mining Engineering Department at IIT ISM, has been at the forefront of cutting-edge research in the domain.

Kapoor Chand and Amit Mankar, who represented IIT ISM Dhanbad at the conference, emphasized the importance of such platforms in fostering collaboration and sharing knowledge.
